Art & Architecture Commission for the Zurich Canton in Zurich District Court, Wengistrasse 30
For the comprehensive refurbishment of the District Court at Wengistrasse 30, Clare Goodwin reactivated elements of the building’s former modular brutalist façade, transforming them into a terrazzo inlay in the central hall. Cut and recomposed fragments of the 1970s structure are embedded into the new architecture and enter into dialogue with ornamental patterns from the 1910 District Court building on Badenerstrasse—an abstract, carpet-like image where architectural histories converge.
